The Elgin Township Democrats are happy to be participating as part of the Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association (CPAAA) Breakfast Ministry Team on Saturday, March 21, 2020. We already have a nice list of volunteers, but we welcome all members to get involved.
The breakfast will be serving between 40 and 60 hungry and homeless people in Elgin at 7:00am at the Vineyard Church located at 220 Division, Elgin, IL.
We know everyone in the ETD is part of the group so you can help improve the community we share. This is another wonderful opportunity to make a difference.
If you are interested in participating, here are the details:
The Elgin Township Democrats as an organization are picking up some of the expense of this charitable endeavor. If you are feeling generous, you are certainly encouraged to contribute whatever food purchases you can afford. However if you can only offer your time, the ETD is happy to reimburse you for any expenses. Please coordinate with Carl and keep your receipts.
Please let Carl know if you choose to help serve on Saturday March 21. It will be an early day as all food needs to be prepared and cooked prior to bringing it to the Church between 6:30am and 6:45am.
The church does have ovens to keep food warm and outlets to plug into if you are bringing warming trays or crock pots.
Listed below are recommendations on what can be provided. Check with Carl to see if anyone has claimed any breakfast to prepare. Ideally your containers will be disposable or recyclable. If you need them back, then please make sure that they are clearly marked with your information.
